This groups consists of children aged 2 – 2.5 years. The layout of the Dolphins room is designed to support different areas of children’s development. The spacious and well-lit room offers children many opportunities for expressing themselves through mark-making, role play, small world play and construction equipment. There’s also a book corner for looking at books. Children have lots of opportunities to engage in sensory exploration using sand, play dough, glue, paint and many different materials. Age and stage appropriate puzzles and games can also be constantly accessed by the children. Apart from using the space within the nursery, the children make weekly visits to the gym.
The Penguin group consists of children aged 2.5 -3.5 years. The layout of the room and the stimulating open environment around it with the home corner for role play, sand tray for sensory exploration and construction corner ensures that children have constant access to a variety of play opportunities. The children also have many opportunities to express themselves through mark making. There’s also space for quieter activities like looking at books, doing puzzles and playing simple games. Apart from using space within the nursery, the children make weekly visits to the gym.
